Forbidden love themed winter wedding in 2026
Romeo and Juliet, the most romantic story in the world, served as inspiration for this winter wedding in 2026. Red and burgundy in a very bold styling transported the guests to an almost parallel universe.
Live music tailored to the wedding, like you've never seen before, at every moment you can imagine, created the perfect vibe. I'd like to share with you the story of Birgitte and Anthony's wedding.
The music
We had planned little bits of ceremony throughout the whole day. This included during the reception, the dinner, and a closing fire ceremony, where live music always struck the right chord. I brought in the guitar and piano at just the right moments and played the playlist that the couple had put together, with love in abundance.
Add some energetic background music during the reception, where a few dances were already performed to Ed Sheeran and everyone sang along to Unwritten.
The ideal warm-up for the couple's live entrance at the dinner, to the song High by The Lighthouse Family. The room was on fire! Just like the couple.
Just when I thought the guests couldn't sing along any louder, they surpassed themselves during a singalong to "Wonderwall," one of the groom's favorite songs. Goosebumps during dinner.
Everyone quietly swayed (and sang) along to the other songs chosen by the couple, which I had carefully selected to accompany the delicious dinner.
At the closing ceremony around the fire pit—shots included—I played an intimate rendition of "Live Forever" by Oasis, on guitar for the ideal campfire vibes. You can listen to it here.
Singing at the top of my lungs, I ended with the chorus of "Make Me Smile," a song we had teased repeatedly throughout the day with just the verse and pre-chorus, and which was now finally allowed to burst forth as the finale.
Then I literally ran inside to perform the opening dance live. The couple chose an intimate guitar version of Truly, Madly, Deeply (Yoke Lore version), after which I followed a pre-arranged plan with the DJ to ensure a smooth transition to the DJ dance party. Be sure to check out my acoustic transition.
Love, love, love.
